EPISODE SUMMARY

I’ve been thinking about you lately, Gavin, and something you do all the time stands out to me. The way you care about people. It’s natural for you, and I want you to know how much that matters.

I see how quick you are to help. Whether it’s at home or with someone else, you don’t hesitate. You don’t overthink it. You just step in and do what needs to be done, and that says a lot about the kind of person you are.

Not everyone does that. Some people wait, some people hope someone else will handle it, but you don’t. You notice, you care, and you act. And over time, that becomes part of who you are.

I want you to keep being that person. Keep helping, keep caring, and keep showing up for others. The world needs more people like you, and I’m proud of you for that.

This is Mr. Funky Teacher. And this is Funky Letters to My Kids.

Today’s episode is called Gavin: Kindness Is Your Superpower.

This one’s for you, Gavin.

I’ve been thinking about you…

And something you do all the time.

And I want to take a second and say something that I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful for how naturally you care about other people.

That’s something special.

I notice how quick you are to help.

If someone needs something… you jump right in.

You don’t hesitate.

You don’t overthink it.

You just go.

Whether it’s helping at home…

Or helping someone else…

You’re usually one of the first people to step in and help.

You’re so good about doing that with Mom…

And that says a lot about you.

Because not everyone does that.

Some people wait.

Some people look around.

Some people hope that someone else will take care of it.

But you don’t.

You step in.

You care.

You help.

And that kind of kindness…

That’s powerful.

It might feel like something small.

Just helping out.

Just doing what needs to be done.

But over time…

That becomes part of who you are.

And the world really needs more people like that.

People who notice.

People who care.

People who act.

If there’s one thing I want you to hold on to, it’s this:

Keep being that person.

The one who helps.

The one who cares.

The one who shows up for others.

At the end of the day, this is what it comes down to:

Be who you are.
Treat people right.
Keep growing.

And remember—

You can change the world by how you live every day.

Go make a difference.

I’m proud of you.
And I love you.

Dad.
